“Basic Education Pathways”: New issue of the ALFA Forum

The latest issue of the ALFA-Forum focuses on the funding priority ‘Basic Education Pathways’. The journal provides insights into the work of the Competence Centre and the ten funded collaborative projects.

  • How does the Competence Centre operate?
  • What are the ten funded collaborative projects about?
  • Which initiatives have already been developed and can be utilised beyond the funding priority?

The journal of the Bundesverband Alphabetisierung und Grundbildung (BVAG) provides answers to these questions in its summer issue. Alongside articles from the Competence Centre GrundbildungsPFADE, readers gain detailed insights into the work of individual projects. The needs from the perspective of learners – who often find it difficult to access information about services, contact persons and contact points, and do so only at a late stage – are also highlighted.

Other topics include the involvement of the Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit, BA) and cooperation with basic education stakeholders, as well as basic education within the National Skills Strategy (Nationale Weiterbildungsstrategie). As the “face of basic education” Prof. Dr. Josef Schrader, the long-standing scientific director of the DIE, is introduced as the ‘face of basic education’.
