Save the date: AlphaDekade Conference 2026
The National Decade for Literacy and Basic Education (Nationale Dekade für Alphabetisierung und Grundbildung) is entering its final phase. On 1 December 2026, the final conference of the AlphaDekade will take place in Berlin under the theme ‘Strengthening basic education through networks’.
THE CONFERENCE
It will focus on taking stock of the AlphaDekade initiative and on the interim results of the ‘Basic Education Pathways’ funding priority, which was launched in 2024. In addition to the key findings of the past ten years, future prospects and potential for development in literacy and basic education will also be discussed. Presentations, a panel discussion and specialist forums provide opportunities for professional exchange and joint discussion with representatives from politics, academia and the field. Federal Minister of Education Karin Prien has confirmed her attendance at the conference. Up to 250 participants are expected.
