At the online information session on 19 May 2026, from 10.00 am to 11.30 am, you will receive a concise overview of the key content of the training course, as well as full details of the schedule and programme.
The professional development programme is aimed at professionals working in basic education and related fields. It combines digital self-study modules with group-based digital reflection sessions and provides an introduction to the field of literacy and basic education, as well as to the two specialisations: basic education consultancy and network coordination. Participants have the option of completing one or both specialisations and obtaining a certificate.
The learning programme was developed by the Bundesverband Alphabetisierung und Grundbildung e.V. and Lernende Region – Netzwerk Köln e.V., and was supported and evaluated by the German Institute for Adult Education. The results of the first run in autumn 2025 indicate a high overall level of satisfaction and that the content translates well into practice. At the same time, the results provide important input for revising the training programme for the second round. This will start in September 2026 and run until February 2027.
Registration for the professional development programme will open on 20 May 2026.
