The professional development programme of the Competence Centre GrundbildungsPFADE will begin in autumn 2026. It offers those interested the opportunity to undertake further training in the areas of ‘basic education counselling’ and ‘network coordination’.

Following the success of the first run, the second edition of the “Professionalisation of Basic Education Pathways” programme will begin on 15 September 2026. The programme is designed as a blended learning format, combining online self-study phases with digital reflection sessions. It provides fundamental knowledge in the field of literacy and basic education, as well as in-depth knowledge in the specialisations of basic education counselling and network coordination. Participants have the option of completing one or both specialisations and obtaining a certificate.
The learning programme was developed by the Bundesverband Alphabetisierung und Grundbildung e.V. and Lernende Region – Netzwerk Köln e.V., and was supported and evaluated by the German Institute for Adult Education. The results of the first round in autumn 2025 revealed a high overall level of satisfaction and demonstrated that the content was well suited to practical application. At the same time, the results provided important insights for revising the training programme for the second round, which will run from September 2026 to February 2027.
